چکیده
Abstract A solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) with a liquid antimony anode (LAA) is potential energy conversion technology for the use of impurity-containing fuels. Atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) has become promising LAA-SOFC preparation method because its economy and convenience. In this paper, button SOFCs different cathode materials ratios pore former were prepared by APS operated at 750 °C. The effect structure on electrochemical performance LAA-SOFCs was analyzed, an optimized developed. tubular using based method, peak power 2.5 W reached. also measured constant current 2 20 h fed sulfur-containing to demonstrate impurity resistance electrode stability.

Redox Stable Anodes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
*Correspondence: Fanglin Chen, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of South Carolina, 300 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29208, USA e-mail: [email protected] Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) can convert chemical energy from the fuel directly to electrical energy with high efficiency and fuel flexibility. Ni-based cermets have been the most widely adopted anode for SOFCs. However, the conv...
متن کاملInvestigation the performance of solid oxide fuel cells and the role of nanotechnology in its construction
Nanotechnology is well used in the development and performance improvement of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The high operating temperature of SOFCs (700-900 ° C) has led to serious shortcomings in their overall performance and durability. Hence, the high operating temperature has been reduced to the average temperature range of approximately 44-700 Celsius, which has improved performance and ...
متن کاملConstrained Sintering in Fabrication of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are inevitably affected by the tensile stress field imposed by the rigid substrate during constrained sintering, which strongly affects microstructural evolution and flaw generation in the fabrication process and subsequent operation. In the case of sintering a composite cathode, one component acts as a continuous matrix phase while the other acts as a dispersed p...
متن کاملImportance of oxygen spillover for fuel oxidation on Ni/YSZ anodes in solid oxide fuel cells.
Using first principles simulations and the Monte Carlo method, the optimal structure of the triple-phase boundaries (TPB) of the Ni/Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) anode in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) is determined. Based on the new TPB microstructures we reveal different reaction pathways for H2 and CO oxidation. In contrast to what was believed in previous theoretical studies, we find tha...

Ni cermet anodes are commonly used in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) [1–4], but there has been considerable interest in alternative oxide-based anodes [5]. The motivation for the alternative materials is to avoid problems with the Ni-based anodes, including susceptibility to coking in hydrocarbon and CO-rich fuels [6], poisoning by sulfur [7] and other fuel impurities [8], and degradation due t...
